Broccoli Quiche

Absolutely! Picture this: a wholesome and inviting dish that embodies the essence of comfort food, perfect for any meal of the day. Broccoli and egg casserole, with its medley of vibrant colors, hearty textures, and satisfying flavors, is a culinary masterpiece that promises to delight the senses and nourish the soul.

At its core, this casserole is a harmonious blend of two humble yet versatile ingredients: fresh broccoli and eggs. The broccoli, with its tender florets and crisp stalks, lends a burst of green freshness and a subtle hint of sweetness to the dish.

Meanwhile, the eggs, with their creamy richness and velvety texture, form the backbone of the casserole, binding together all the elements into a cohesive and satisfying whole.

But the magic of this dish lies in its versatility and adaptability. Imagine a fragrant onion sizzling in a skillet, filling the air with its savory aroma as it caramelizes to golden perfection.

Visualize vibrant bell peppers, diced into colorful confetti, adding a pop of sweetness and a delightful crunch to every bite. Envision a blanket of shredded cheese, melted to gooey perfection, enveloping the broccoli and eggs in a comforting embrace of creamy goodness.

Each ingredient plays its part, contributing its unique flavor and texture to the symphony of tastes and sensations that await.

From the earthy sweetness of the broccoli to the savory richness of the eggs, from the caramelized onions to the melted cheese, every component melds together seamlessly, creating a dish that’s greater than the sum of its parts.

As the casserole bakes in the oven, the aromas wafting from the kitchen promise a meal that’s both comforting and nourishing.

The anticipation builds as the casserole transforms, the eggs puffing up and setting into a golden-brown crust while the cheese melts into a molten river of creamy deliciousness.

Ingredients:

1 pie crust, softened as directed on the box
2 cups broccoli, chopped
1/2 cup cheddar cheese, shredded
1 cup mozzarella cheese
1 cup milk
4 eggs, slightly beaten
1/4 teaspoon garlic salt (with parsley flakes)
1/4 teaspoon pepper
3 teaspoons minced garlic

Directions:

Preheat the oven to 350°F.
Use a shallow-sided 9-inch glass pie plate. Place the pie crust in the plate and crimp the edges. Poke the bottom of the pie crust to let air vent out. Prebake the crust for 10-12 minutes.
Allow to cool a bit then place the broccoli and cheese on the bottom of the pie crust.
In a medium bowl mix up the filling: milk, eggs, salt, pepper, and garlic. Pour over the broccoli and cheese.
Bake for 40-45 minutes. Check if it’s done by inserting a knife in the center. If it comes out clean, take the quiche out of the oven.
Let stand for 5-10 minutes before serving.
