Ingredients:

  • – 2 racks of pork baby back ribs
  • – Salt and pepper, to taste
  • – 2 cups root beer
  • – 1 cup BBQ sauce (homemade or store-bought)
  • – 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • –  tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • –  tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • –  teaspoon smoked paprika
  • – 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • – 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • – Optional: chopped fresh parsley or green onions for garnish

Instructions:

1. Start by preparing the pork ribs. Remove the membrane from the back of the ribs if it is still attached. Season both sides of the ribs generously with salt and pepper.

2. In a mixing bowl, combine the root beer, BBQ sauce, minced garlic, Worcestershire sauce, apple cider vinegar, smoked paprika, onion powder, and garlic powder. Mix well to combine.

3. Place the seasoned pork ribs in the slow cooker, standing them up against the walls of the slow cooker with the meaty side facing outward.

4. Pour the root beer BBQ sauce mixture over the ribs, ensuring they are well coated.

5. Cover the slow cooker and cook the ribs on low heat for 6-8 hours, or until the meat is tender and easily pulls away from the bones.

6. Once the ribs are cooked, carefully remove them from the slow cooker and place them on a serving platter or baking sheet.

7. If desired, brush the ribs with additional BBQ sauce and broil them in the oven for a few minutes to caramelize and crisp up the edges.

8. Garnish the ribs with chopped fresh parsley or green onions, if desired, before serving.

9. Serve the slow cooker root beer BBQ pork ribs hot, accompanied by your favorite side dishes such as coleslaw, cornbread, or roasted vegetables.

This recipe offers a convenient and delicious way to enjoy tender and flavorful pork ribs with minimal hands-on cooking time, making it perfect for busy weeknights or weekend gatherings.
