Ingredients:
  • • ½ pound ground beef
  • • 1 tsp minced garlic
  • • 1 Tablespoon chili powder
  • • 1 teaspoon salt
  • • ½ teaspoon pepper
  • • ½ teaspoon cumin
  • • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • • ¼ teaspoon dried oregano
  • • ¼ teaspoon paprika
  • • ⅓ cup diced onion
  • • ½ 8 oz can of Rotel
  • • 1 sheet of puff pastry, thawed
  • • 1 cup Mexican blend cheese, shredded
  • • Optional Garnishes: lettuce, tomatoes, sour cream, salsa, guacamole, green onions, cilantro
Directions:
1. Preheat your oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit and get a baking sheet ready by spraying it with nonstick spray.
2. In a skillet, cook the ground beef over medium-high heat until it’s nicely browned. Throw in the diced onion and minced garlic, and keep cooking until the onion is soft and the meat is fully cooked.
3. Drain off any extra fat from the skillet.
4. Mix in the chili powder, salt, pepper, cumin, onion powder, dried oregano, and paprika. Add the Rotel and cook for another 3-4 minutes. Then, take it off the heat and set it aside.
5. On a flat surface, lay out the puff pastry sheet and roll or press it into a big rectangle, about 18 inches long.
6. Spread the cooked beef mixture evenly over the puff pastry, then sprinkle on the shredded cheese.
7. Starting at the long edge closest to you, roll up the dough tightly, kind of like you would with a cinnamon bun. Seal the edge along the roll.
8. Use a serrated knife to slice the roll into one-inch slices. Wipe the knife with a wet paper towel between cuts to stop it from sticking.
9. Place the pinwheel slices on the prepared baking sheet, leaving a bit of space between each.
10. Bake them for 10 to 12 minutes, or until they’re a lovely golden brown.
11. Serve them hot with your choice of optional garnishes and get ready to see them disappear! Prep Time: 30 minutes Cooking Time: 10-12 minutes Total Time: 45 minutes Servings: 12
