Ingredients:

6 large egg yolks

1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour

1/2 cup packed brown sugar

2 oz unsweetened chocolate

4 oz German sweet chocolate

6 tbsp lard

1/4 tsp salt

2 tsp vanilla extract

1 cup sweetened coconut

1 1/4 cup pecans

3 tbsp ice water

1/4 cup butter

1 can sweetened condensed milk

1/2 cup heavy whipping cream

Instructions:

Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).

In a large bowl, mix together the flour, brown sugar, salt, and lard. Knead until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.

Gradually add in the ice water, and mix until the dough forms a ball. Roll out the dough and place it in a 9-inch (23 cm) pie dish.

Bake the crust for 10 minutes, then remove from the oven and set aside.

In a separate bowl, mix together the egg yolks, condensed milk, vanilla extract, and coconut. Pour this mixture into the baked crust.

In a small saucepan, melt the unsweetened chocolate and German sweet chocolate over low heat. Pour the melted chocolate over the egg mixture in the pie dish.

Sprinkle the pecans on top of the chocolate layer.

Bake the pie for 25-30 minutes, or until the filling is set.

Allow the pie to cool to room temperature.

In a separate bowl, whip the heavy whipping cream until soft peaks form. Spoon the whipped cream over the cooled pie.

Chill the pie in the refrigerator until ready to serve.

Enjoy your delicious Coconut-Pecan German Chocolate Pie!
