Madeleine Recipe with Chocolate Chips


  • 125g butter
  • 125g sugar
  • 150g flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tbsp milk
  • 5-6 drops almond flavor
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 1 lemon zest
  • 50g chocolate chips

Melt the butter in a saucepan and let it cool slightly. Beat the eggs with sugar until the mixture is light and fluffy till stirring, add the flour with baking powder, stir. Add butter, milk, almond flavor and grated lemon zest.
Cover with plastic wrap and chill for 3 hours. Grease the baking form. Add the dough into the mold. Add chocolate chips to the remaining dough and refrigerate.
Bake at 220°C/430°F for 4 minutes, lower to 180°C/350°F and continue bake for another 5-6 minutes, until the shells become golden.
