Ham and cheese sticks are a delightful appetizer or snack that combines the savory flavors of ham and cheese in a crispy, breaded coating. They are easy to prepare and make a delicious finger food for parties or gatherings.
To make ham and cheese sticks, start by cutting slices of deli ham and cheese into thin strips, about 1 inch wide and 3-4 inches long. Place a strip of cheese on top of a strip of ham and roll them up together tightly.
Next, prepare three shallow dishes for breading the ham and cheese sticks. Dip each ham and cheese roll first in the flour, then in the beaten eggs, and finally in the bread crumb mixture, ensuring they are evenly coated.
Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Fry the ham and cheese sticks in batches until they are golden brown and crispy on all sides, about 2-3 minutes per side. Drain them on paper towels to remove excess oil.
Serve the ham and cheese sticks warm, either on their own or with your favorite dipping sauce, such as marinara or ranch dressing. They are sure to be a hit with everyone, with their crunchy exterior and gooey, cheesy interior. Enjoy!
