Broccoli cauliflower salad is a delicious and nutritious side dish that is perfect for potlucks, picnics, or as a refreshing addition to any meal. This salad is made with fresh broccoli and cauliflower florets,
crisp bacon, sharp cheddar cheese, and a creamy dressing, creating a flavorful and satisfying dish.
To make broccoli cauliflower salad, start by blanching the broccoli and cauliflower florets in boiling water for a few minutes, then immediately transferring them to an ice bath to stop the cooking process.
This helps to retain their bright color and crisp texture.
Next, cook some bacon until crispy, then crumble it into small pieces. Grate some sharp cheddar cheese and chop some red onion.
In a large bowl, combine the blanched broccoli and cauliflower, crumbled bacon, grated cheddar cheese, and chopped red onion. In a separate bowl, mix together mayonnaise, apple cider vinegar, sugar,
salt, and pepper to make the dressing. Pour the dressing over the salad and toss everything together until well coated.
Refrigerate the salad for at least an hour before serving to allow the flavors to meld together. This salad can be served chilled or at room temperature and is sure to be a hit with everyone who tries it. Enjoy!
