air fryer roast potatoes

EASY AIR FRYER ROASTED POTATO RECIPE

My family and I are now enjoying our weekly serving of jacket baked potatoes which can also be made in an instant pot. I do have to give it to the air fryer, the potatoes whether roasted or baked comes out right at all times.

You don’t need to parboil the potatoes as I did with these Parmentier potatoes or crispy roasties when using the air fryer. That process takes about 10 minutes off the cooking time. All you have to do to make is to cut the potatoes into cube sizes, season them with herbs, salt and peppers and roast in the air fryer until golden brown and perfectly crispy.

You can eat these roasted potatoes any time of the day; breakfast, lunch or dinner. In fact, the leftover makes a perfect school dinner, because of the size, it can be eaten cold at room temperature.

Ingredient:

  • 4-5 medium-sized potatoes (e.g., Russet or Yukon Gold)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder (optional)
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika (optional)
  • Fresh herbs (rosemary, thyme, or parsley) for garnish (optional)

Instructions:

Wash and peel the potatoes (if desired), then cut them into bite-sized pieces. Make sure the pieces are relatively uniform in size to ensure even cooking.

Place the potato pieces in a large bowl. Drizzle the olive oil over them, and then add the salt, pepper, and any optional seasonings like garlic powder and paprika.

Toss the potatoes in the bowl until they are evenly coated with the oil and seasonings.
Preheat your air fryer to 375-400°F (190-200°C).
Once the air fryer is preheated, place the seasoned potato pieces in the air fryer basket. You may need to do this in batches, depending on the size of your air fryer, to avoid overcrowding.

Cook the potatoes in the air fryer for about 15-20 minutes, shaking or tossing them every 5-10 minutes to ensure even cooking. Cooking time may vary depending on the size and type of your air fryer, so keep an eye on them.
The potatoes are ready when they are golden brown and crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. You can check for doneness by poking a fork or knife into a potato piece to see if it’s soft inside.

Once done, remove the air-fried potatoes from the basket and transfer them to a serving dish. You can garnish them with fresh herbs, such as rosemary, thyme, or parsley, if you like.
Serve your air fryer roast potatoes hot as a side dish or enjoy them with your favorite dipping sauce.
