Tiger nut drink, also known as “horchata de chufa” or “horchata de almendra,” is a traditional Spanish beverage made from tiger nuts, which are not actually nuts but small tubers. This refreshing and creamy drink is naturally sweet and dairy-free, making it suitable for vegans and those with lactose intolerance.

To make tiger nut drink, start by soaking tiger nuts in water for at least 8 hours or overnight. Drain the soaked tiger nuts and blend them with fresh water until smooth. Strain the mixture through a nut milk bag or fine mesh sieve to remove any solids, then sweeten the drink with sugar, honey, or another sweetener of your choice to taste.

You can also add a splash of vanilla extract or ground cinnamon for extra flavor. Serve the tiger nut drink chilled over ice for a refreshing treat. It’s a delicious and nutritious alternative to dairy milk, with a slightly nutty and sweet flavor that is sure to please your taste buds.
